Supervision
Clinical Supervision for Therapists & Trainee Counsellors
Supervision is one of the parts of my work I find most rewarding. There's something I genuinely love about sitting with another therapist and connecting with them and supporting them in their practice.
If you find yourself second-guessing every intervention, minimising your potency or effectiveness, or leaving sessions with self-doubts about your work, then we will work well together. I help supervisees feel confident in themselves, learn to lean into becoming the therapist that they want to be and work in a way that is ‘them’ and fulfilling.
I've sat where you're sitting. I know what it's like to walk out of supervision feeling more exposed than when you walked in.
I believe that good supervision meets you where you are and isn’t about making you feel like you don’t know enough theory or shrouded in clinical language. Good supervision helps you believe in in yourself and your clinical instincts, recognise your own potency and get your confidence back where it belongs.
If you work better creatively, we can bring that in too using materials, metaphor, or movement to explore your work in ways that go beyond words.
And for those who want something different altogether, I offer outdoor supervision in Hexham, Northumberland - walking and sitting together in an ancient woodland, engaging with Nature and being guided by her in our work.
Sustaining a therapeutic practice is hard, caseload pressures, business decisions, tricky professional dynamics, setting up private practice, preparing for interviews, there is space for all of this in our sessions. Supervision is about supporting you where you are, on a clinical, professional and personal level.
I offer individual supervision and am open to working with small groups of up to four people, where the shared thinking often adds something you don't get one-to-one.
UKCP-registered supervisor and tutor of counselling students, which keeps my supervision work connected to the wider therapeutic field and grounded in ongoing learning.
Sessions are offered in person in both Hexham and Gosforth from a clinic setting and online.
Outdoor Supervision
I also offer outdoor supervision in Hexham, Northumberland, walking and sitting together in nature as we reflect on your clinical work. This way of being together with your work offers something restorative that traditional supervision doesn't always provide.
