Supervision
Clinical Supervision for Therapists & Trainee Counsellors
Supervision is one of the parts of my work I find most rewarding. There's something I genuinely love about sitting with another therapist and thinking deeply together about their practice.
I see supervision as a relationship between peers, where you bring yourself, your clients, your doubts, your reactions, and all the the messy bits in-between.
I'll help you think through clinical work, support your decision-making, and hold space for you as a whole person, not just as a practitioner.
I believe supervision works best when you feel safe enough to bring everything, the parts you want to hide, the parts you're not sure belong in a professional space, the parts you've learned to keep quiet.
I know what it's like to feel exposed in supervision, like you're being assessed rather than supported. That's not what this is. There's no performance required here. We talk plainly, in ordinary language, without jargon or theory getting in the way. It's a thinking space, not a test.
If you work better creatively, we can bring that in too using materials, metaphor, or movement to explore your work in ways that go beyond words.
And for those who want something different altogether, I offer outdoor supervision in Hexham, Northumberland - walking and sitting together in nature, where something about the landscape makes the thinking feel different.
It's not just the clinical stuff either. Sustaining a therapeutic practice is hard — caseload pressures, business decisions, tricky professional dynamics. We can work with all of it.
I offer individual supervision and am open to working with small groups of up to four people, where the shared thinking often adds something you don't get one-to-one.
UKCP-registered supervisor and tutor of counselling students, which keeps my supervision work connected to the wider therapeutic field and grounded in ongoing learning.
Sessions are offered in person in both Hexham and Gosforth from a clinic setting and online.
Outdoor Supervision
I also offer outdoor supervision in Hexham, Northumberland, walking and sitting together in nature as we reflect on your clinical work. This way of being together with your work offers something restorative that traditional supervision doesn't always provide.
