Frequently Asked Questions

  • Therapy works best when there's time for trust to build and patterns to emerge. Some people work with me for around 10 sessions, others stay for much longer. We'll review as we go to make sure it still feels right for you.

  • That's what the free 15-minute call is for. We can talk about what you're struggling with and whether working together makes sense for you right now.

  • £75 per session. Sessions are 50 minutes for indoor therapy, 60 minutes for outdoor therapy.

  • I offer indoor therapy at 103 High Street, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne. I also work online with clients across the UK.

  • Yes. I'm dyslexic and neurodivergent myself, so I create sessions that work with how your brain actually processes. You're welcome to move, stim, fidget, or use your hands; whatever helps you stay present and engaged. We'll figure out what works best for you.

  • You don't need a dramatic story or obvious trauma for therapy to make sense. Many of the women I work with say the same thing, that nothing terrible happened, but something was missing. If your feelings were overlooked, minimized, or quietly dismissed, that's enough. And if something bad did happen you get to choice if you wish to discuss that.

  • An intensive single session is a 100-minute one-off appointment.

It's for people who would like some focused time on a specific issue but don’t want to commit to longer term therapy. Or alternatively you may want a longer initial session before committing to ongoing therapy. The fee is £170.

  • Yes. Much of my work focuses on women navigating difficult relationships with their mothers, whether that's feeling controlled, unseen, or caught between being the good daughter and cutting ties. This is an area where my clinical expertise is most developed.

  • I supervise both trainee counsellors and qualified therapists. For trainees, supervision is about being a consistent, holding presence as you integrate your learning. For qualified therapists, it's about staying reflective and continuing to develop your practice.

  • The seven-eyed model is a framework that looks at supervision in context. We pay attention to your client, your interventions, the relationship between you, your patterns as a therapist, the supervisory relationship itself, the wider systems at play, and the socio-political world we're all working in. It creates space for the whole of you to come to supervision.

  • £70 per 50 minutes session or £105 for 90 minutes.

  • Yes. I work with groups as group supervision offers the wisdom and perspective of your peers. It is a space to learn from each other and hold complexity together. Get in touch to discuss joining or forming a group.

  • Yes. I offer supervision online, in Hexham, Gosforth in person or a mixture of both.

  • Ecotherapy is therapy that takes place outdoors; it's more than just walking and talking in nature. It's a process of working in nature, with nature, acknowledging the natural world as part of the therapeutic relationship. Walking side-by-side changes the dynamic, movement helps processing, and being outdoors can feel less formal and more grounding than a consulting room. The same therapeutic boundaries and confidentiality apply to the work. .

  • Yes. Outdoor supervision is available for therapists and trainee counsellors in 60-minute or 90-minute sessions. I've been working therapeutically outdoors since 2014 and bring over a decade of experience to this work. It offers something restorative that traditional supervision doesn't always provide. Clinical supervision is about creating space for reflective, thoughtful exploration that helps you develop your practice. Therefore our modalities don’t need to match for us to work together.
